The PHA UK has launched two pet-themed fundraisers to appeal to animal lovers looking to support people with PH this summer.
Under the umbrella brand Pet Power for PH, the initiatives are designed to be accessible to all – with a walking challenge for all abilities, and an online competition with no need to leave home.
Sponsored walk Paws for PH encourages dog owners (or borrowers!) to set a route and distance of their choice and stride out in support of people with pulmonary hypertension.
Online pet show Perfect Pets is an opportunity for all pet owners to show off their animal friends, in five different categories. Entries cost £5 and winners will be decided via a public vote. The champion of each category will receive a £20 Pets At Home voucher and will be featured in the Autumn issue of Emphasis.
Shaun Clayton, the PHA UK’s director of membership support, said: “We know that lots of people in our PH community have pets, and credit them for helping them through illness, lockdowns, and much more. These fundraisers are a positive, fun way of harnessing the power of our wonderful pets to support our charity, and we hope to see many of our members get involved.”
